How does a 28/28 rotation work?

A 28/28 rotation means 28 consecutive days on site followed by 28 days off, repeating on a 56-day cycle. Because the cycle is not a whole number of weeks or months, your working days land on different weekdays each rotation, which is why a calendar is easier than counting by hand.

How do I calculate my rotation pay?

Multiply your daily rate by the number of paid working days that fall inside the calendar month, then add any travel day, overtime or training day payments. Because rotation cycles do not line up with calendar months, the number of paid days changes from month to month.

Is my schedule data stored on a server?

Why rotation pay changes every month

A rotation cycle doesn't line up with calendar months. A 28/28 runs on a 56-day loop, so one month might hold 18 paid days and the next only 12. The Pay tab counts the working days that actually fall inside each month and multiplies them by your daily rate, adding travel days, overtime and training days if you use them.

It's built for people who work real rotations — offshore and oil & gas crews, marine and seismic workers, mining and remote-site staff, and anyone on a fly-in fly-out schedule who needs to know when they're home and what the month is worth.

Adding your rotation to a phone calendar

The year overview can export your next 12 months as a calendar file (.ics). Consecutive working days are grouped into one entry per rotation, so a 28/28 adds about seven events a year rather than 180.

Import it into a separate calendar — create one called “Work rotation” first, in Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, and import there. An .ics is a one-off copy, not a live sync: if your pattern changes you export again, and with a separate calendar you just delete that calendar and re-import instead of deleting every event by hand.
